'74 vs Earlier years (archive)

I'm considering the plunge, all things remaining equal (RUST)is a 1974 inherently less desireable than '73, '72, '71...?

I've been cautioned there are enough unique peculiarities on the '74 that repair and restoration is an added problem and expense.

Is this true? What, besides the bumpers and presumably some emissions components are of concern?

Thanks
