For 14k you should be able to get a pretty nice, nearly "rust free" coupe in good mechanical condition. The "problematic" thing about coupes is the rust, and thae fact that they tend to melt when driven in the rain (more so than '02's). The engines and transmissions are really sturdy (both carbed and FI), easy to mainatain and fix (about the same as your old '02), and parts aren't hard to find, once you know where to look. My advice: shop around awile. Spend as much as you can up front for the best bodywork you can buy. It costs wayyyyy more later. Oh yeah: and stay outta the rain.


I know this will sound wierd by my old bimmer always ran better in the rain. I had heard of water (moisture) injection way long ago as a way to better performance. There I said it now you know Im a crazy man.
