Phillip and me looked at the car yesterday and there has been some kind of rust repair on the fender channels and it looks like bondo was used. There were a few rust bubbles under the sound material around on the inner fenders where the panels were joined (I couldn't see the actual rust, but the sound material were all pushed up from underneath of it). Under the fenders, looked good though. Trunk was all-nice and clean, some tools missing. Spare tire well appeared to be solid, but it was spayed with undercoating for some reason!
All the rubber looked good. Interior looked very nice, but I don't think the seat covers were of original material, nevertheless, very nicely done. Headliner was original and in great shape. Door panels, dash and console in very good condition. Glove box vinyl was separating and some silicon was used, that didn't work.
Engine ran pretty good, but we could only drive it in the parking lot due to lack of registration. Tranny needs synchros. Drive shaft center bearing appeared to be broken. I don't think it is a low miles car and must have been around once. There was no documentation available, but he said that he could get them sent over.
Re-paint is okay, a little darker than Polaris, and the trim was not removed as you see traces of paint on the seals and beltline. There was something suspicious about the sides and I am not sure if was hit of had some rust repair. The crease line was not quite as straight as you see it on Geoff's car.
Overall is a good car, but will need some rust repair on the front fenders.
He also told us about getting it for $10k and shipping it on a container along with another car and I know that was not cheap. His reserve is set at $15k.
