I personally think the answers coming from the BMW AG archives dpt are really poor and do not help a lot. They should be able to exactly tell us (as Porsche or Mercedes does for older models) about the exact car specs when delivered (tinted windows, AC, leather, sunroof etc...). I thought this was due to the fact that I always ask for specific CSL information (and never get a satisfactory answer), but I see with John's post that they really are short with their answers concerning other models too... What a lesson for them to see a book like the Porsche book "Carrera RS 2.7 litre" !!! In this book describing the 3.0 CSL counterpart of the seventies, every detail is described, nothing is omitted and the most little details concerning EACH car are reported !!! This is the right way to share information, to avoid fake cars and really teach people with substantial information on a model. At BMW they maybe think they should better protect their information thant they do at the CIA ? This is definitely not what I would describe as "Freude am fahren".
