I personally think the answers coming from the BMW AG archives dpt are really poor and do not help a lot. They should be able to exactly tell us (as Porsche or Mercedes does for older models) about the exact car specs when delivered (tinted windows, AC, leather, sunroof etc...).

Personally, I couldn't care less - and having Mobile Tradition spend money hiring a staff that first goes through all the records, then enters them into somesort of useable database, then sits by their email all day waiting for somebody to ask whether their car was originally delivered with fuzzy dingleballs or leather seats is only going to make replacement parts more expensive.

Unless of course you expect BMW to just _give_ you this information because you are a great guy!

This stuff is a lot easier for Porsche because they make about 5% of the cars that BMW makes. Sorting through receipts for 10,000 cars a year is a lot easier than sorting through receipts for 500,000 cars per year...

Although if anyone had about 2 years spare time on their hands I'm sure they'd let you stop by and put all those records straight!
