Not too hard once the windshield is out. Just lots of screws and a few nut and bolts. The windshield comes out really easily and goes back in pretty easily as well.

the removal method I used was from the e9 cd manual. It says to sit in either seat and use your feet to gently push out each uppper corner of the seal and glass. After wich, the whole assembly can be lifted off.

Putting it back you will need another person (helps to have another pair of hands), eight feet of 3/8" rope or twine. Put the rope into the gasket where the seam is supposed to meet the lip on the window seal. Start laying in the rope in the middle of the bottom. Going all the way around the windshield until you meet back where you started (overlap the rope about 4 inches). Align the seal as close to the lip on the winshield as you can. Now, pull the rope out making sure that the seal comes over that lip. Pull the rest of the rope all the way around the seal and window making sure the seal clears and that it also any vinyl, or headliner trim didn't make it under the seal. If the window isn't perfectly alinged, just use one palm on the outside and the other hand flat against the inside of the glass to sort of guide it. shouldn't take more that about 10 minutes to put the glass back in.
