I was overconfident with a 2002 (not mine either, worse for me) and put my size 13s on the glass. I pushed and the excellent windshield cracked. Most fortunately, the owner was a good friend and owed me some favors.

If you use this method, make sure the rubber gasket is not stuck to the body anywhere. One way to do this might be to use some stainless steel fishing leader wire, thread it between the gasket and body, one end inside, one end outside. Pull the wire all the way around the gasket like a cheese slicer to ensure the gasket won't be stuck to the body anywhere. Then make sure you are easing the inner lip of the gasket over the body lip as much as you can.

2002s have cheaper windshields that are not as wide in relation to their height as the coupes are. This makes them relatively less crackable. Never mind, I cracked it.

Next time, I'll practice on a wreck.

I will say that installation using soap for lubricant, and the nylon cord, isn't hard at all; two of us did it on an old Toyota truck.
