I have 16x7 front, 16x8 rear with 225/50s on all 4. Offsets are fronts ET11 and rear ET24. My front fender lips are rolled. Rears have not been altered. I have about 3/8" clearance between the front tire and the strut. In the rear, there is about 1/2" between the tire and the tailpipe. My car is lowered, maybe an inch. My tires do hit the body sometimes on big bumps, but I'm not sure where.

I have seen an E9 coupe with Racing Dynamics 17" wheels that I think were 9" front and 11" rear. I don't know the details, but I think there must have been a lot of modification. The car had had a lot done to it.
