Buy a really cheap car as a backup, store it, and quit fretting and buy the CS!

i've posted several times in the last week, and i've gotten some great answers and suggestions. so allow me to rephrase something i already asked. i want to buy a 1972 3.0 csi. It will be my only car. i love the styling and it drives very well.

however, i am concerned (my mechanic warned me about this) that it might be hard to get certain parts and that i might be out of a car for long periods of time while i am waiting for parts. i am also concerned that certain parts might not be available or might be exorbitantly expensive. or, that i will try to take the car on a road trip and that it will break down. i know that this kind of thing varies with auto moblie, but please share your stories with me -- they will help me make a decision.

is this better as a second car or can i depend on a clean, low mileage 3,0 csi?

thanks so much!

andrew
