gas guage stuck - advice? (archive)

My fuel guage just seemed to get stuck today at about a quarter tank, and didn't return upon fill-up.

Any suggestions on the diagnosis priorities?

PS - What a great day it was for a drive today in the sunny Sonoma wine country. About 60 degrees, crisp, clear (the day and the wine). It was so nice I didn't even get too upset about one more thing to fix...
