These are fun-to-drive little cars, although I've never driven a convertible. If I remember correctly, the italian designer Micholetti who designed the 700cs also did a design study for the e9 that was obviously not produced.
While I'm here, I wanted to weigh in on the "solid car" thread. It seems like solid, but not show-worthy cars are being purchased for reasonable prices as witnessed by the cars recently acquired by coupeless and geoff.
Seems like the poor cars are not finding buyers, and the pretty solid cars are being sold for more down to earth valuations in this time of low interest rates. Ultimately, good quality coupes are a pleasure to drive and should be enjoyed without the delusion that they represent an asset that reflects 100% of the owners investment.
Not that I don't wish that they did....
