You know that you can cut a bigger hole into your auto console. I have even heard that there might be a line on the wood for the stick shift, repeat, heard and not seen.
Also, when you do find the console make sure you get the right one. AC and non-AC shift surround consoles are slightly different. The lip at the back of the non-AC is longer in order to reach the wood tray, versus AC console that is shorter due to the AC fascia. Again, that could be cut too.
