Ignition Switch removal (archive)

So, I'm attempting to extract the ignition switch. Mine is the "long" unit about 3" or so. The 4 wires at the back appear to be part of the cylinder, they get wound with the black protector sleeve as they go under the dash. Where do the detach? On the top of the switch are two brown and green wires, it looks like they may plug in.
Any advice?
