Whether or not the value of the car will be affected is a tough call. One thing's for sure, you'll never be able to advertise it as a classic with the original color, which is a plus for many people who respond to ads for classic cars. Few cars that are driven much (and even fewer with metallic paint) still have factory applied paint and most people understand that. So if you are planning to resell and target the classic market, keep it the same color.

If you do plan a color change, be aware that prepping the door jambs, inside of the hood and trunk, and all the little nooks and crannies is very time consuming and generally is not done well. A paint shop cannot duplicate the factory paint in those areas for a reasonable amount of money, or at all. Another reason for keeping the same color.

I had a siena braun 3.0si and got a lot of compliments on it. Andre's car looks really good, too. After having done two color changes, I'm a proponent of keeping the original color no matter what it is.

But the bottom line is that it's your car and you're the only one you have to please. Unless you're married.
