I have the same car with an AC console. I ended up getting one of the portable CDs that broadcasts to the radio, and keep it in the glovebox when not in use. Works fine. I kept the original radio but upgraded the speakers in the stock holes, which increased the sound quality significantly.

74 CS


The console of my 74 cs does not permit the installation of a AM/FM/CD player--not enough depth for the stuff made today. Thought is to find a unit with a removeable faceplate for the front controls, the unit guts in the glove compartment, and maybe a 6 or 10 CD changer in the trunk. I am a novice at this--surely you veteran E9'ers have gone through this before. Haven't seen a recent post about fitting in an upgraded stereo system. What have you guys/gals come up with?
