That said:
Rust, in the trunk, the spare tire well, both rear corners of the trunk, and the rear seam along the back that collects water, mud, etc. Very wet in the trunk area, gutter around the trunk also rusted. Interior in fair shape, seats poor in my opinion, very musty damp smell inside. Some aftermarket molding had been on the side of the car and was removed, holes along the side will need to be filled. Poor paint job, front and rear glass were removed, but reinstalled poorly. Rear bumper not on correctly, and did not look to see why. Front bumper chrome totally shot. Wires and electricals hanging loose under the dash.
Wheels.... Very Ugly !!
I did not find any other rusty areas but stopped looking due to the dim lighting etc.
But this is NOT a RUST FREE CAR, and it would be wrong to think it was.
The main thing to look for is rust and structural anomolies! Most mechanical issues can be resolved pretty reasonably. It helps to have a flashlight with you. Check out the shock towers, look through the glove box, look in the trunk around the spare tire well, remove rear seat if possible. Also, the owner did not show pics of the engine bay. What is the condition? Does it look like there has been any overheating problems? Check out the hoses, belts, and signs of fluid leaks of any kind.
If you can get digital pics of any of these things that would be helpful as well.
Good luck gumshoe!
