I read recently on the csregistry that you shouldn't use a jack on the diff for fear of snapping the diff mount to the underbody. I had a look at the mount today (see recent posting regarding shocks) and it appears that jacking under the diff would just compress the bolt point rather than enable it to shear or tear.
Merdad et al, is this just an old wives tale or is their some truth in it?
