bottom bolt oil filter stupidity (archive)

OK, the day has come to ditch the OEM oil filter arrangement. Proper square-section o-rings are NLA and the crappy round-section rings aren't thick enough. I've blown two in as many days.

Top-bolt arrangement won't fit with carb manifolds, so the only option is a spin-on housing and filter. Question is, which cars to scavenge? I seem to recall that the E12 and/or E28 flange/filters fit. Correct?

Before I hunt one down, does anyone have a spin-on apparatus that they'd like to part with?

Thanks,
Michael
