I have had success with step #4 although I only had to jerk the seat a few times and not resort to " and pull the other end with your preferred car/truck/farm tractor."

1) Soak the mounting points (especially the outside ones exposed to moisture from the door openings) with oil for as long as you are prepared to wait, ideally several days. Add oil regularly.

2a) Pull as hard as you can, alternating between the mounting points.

2b) If 2a) fails, repeat 1) and 2 a). Have a beer.

3) Use a rubber mallet or a hammer with proper protection (wood and rugs) to strike the headrest down. You might, just might, break the rust and be able to pull it out. Have a sixpack.

4) Get the seat out of the car, firmly attach it to a tree. Tie a rope around the headrest and pull the other end with your preferred car/truck/farm tractor. Have a triple bourbon.

Enjoy!

Mathis

PS: I haven't gone past step 3 myself
