I've located an '89 3.5 motor from a dismantler for my '73. $1500 and 90 day warranty, "excellent condition" and 70,000 miles according to the seller. He's going to give me leak down and compression results. What's a good result? Does that seem like fair deal, what else can I do to be safe or should I be going about this a different way? Can my mechanic redo the compression and leak down before he installs.

How does $500 sound for a fairly new, complete and ready to bolt-on Weber 32/36 setup?
