Jim,

to my knowledge, neither the starter ring nor the flywheel are still available ex stock. The supersession part DOES NOT FIT in an E9 - I bought one and had to return it.
Best is if you get a good used one.

Great board!
Bought a 72 3.CS euro auto about 3 years ago,have a few questions,of course.
I have lost a few little pieces of wooden dash, any reasonable way of repairing those, also what kind of oil or varnish should I be using on the dash.

Also the car is down now for a starter ring, after much work to remove the starter it was fine but the ring had teeth only on the back third of it.
What is a decent price to pay for a good used one?Is that the way to go or should I get a new one? Is this something a transmission place could do?My BMW guy said 3 weeks ago he would give me a bid but no call.
PS:My daily driver is an 87 L6,I have had 7 2002's and still have a 72 TII which is certainly the most fun of the 3 to drive.

Thanks for any advice,
Jim C
