Windshield washer operation? (archive)

The washer on my CS doesn't squirt . Can anyone tell me how the system operates, and what to trouble shoot for? There must be a pump of some kind--looks like a small cylinder under the fluid reservoir. Does it make any kind of noise when activated? Other than crimps in the line, I can't see anything to look for. Any help would be appreciated.
