FYI: It has a light sensor on the front panel that increases the display brightness in the sun and decrease the brightness in the shade or dark. Look for the little optical (clear plastic) sensor on the front panel of the radio. About the size of a match-head. Putting your finger over it should make the display dimmer. And the opposite if you shine a light into it (flashlight from glovebox). As far as your unit, it sounds like something needs to be repaired. If it's warranty, they'll just swap-out your radio.

: Recently the radio in my 95 M3 (the same one as in 96/97/98) has had a very dim display. It will go bright every now and then, but for the most part it's very dark and hard to read.

: Is there any kind of a fix for this, or just to replace the radio. I would have to do that becuase it works perfectly, except for the fact that I can't hardly read the display.
