: I hate to agree with you, just I'd rather trade in her jeep than my Z3...ugh!!! I was thinking of just getting the M3 and driving both, but I work as a consultant and am home only on the weekends... I'm looking real hard for a good reason not to buy the M3...

hmmm...i personally would feel safer in my roadster than a jeep (i think BMW crash better- err, withstand a crash better- but the jeep does have a height advantage that helps them out)

it is your call on the Z for your daughter (i read your responses on the Z board)...i know i wouldn't have been ready for a car like the Z then, but maybe she is (i doubt it though)...IMO maturity really isn't a factor, driving is thing that gets better with time and experience (and very few 17yo have had it)...the Z is such a fun car (hard to part with) and the price you have gotten on the M3 sounds like such a deal that it would be hard to pass up....on one hand, go for it, on the other you are giving a Z to somebody that might not be ready for a car like that (but like you said in the other thread- you know your daughter, so go with what fits your situation best)

: BTW, How do you like the M roadster?

it is a great car

if i would have waited for the 2.8 i never would have considered the M roadster, but my love of BMWs goes back to my moms 84 325e (yeah i do like the etas) and i drooled after the E30 M3 and i loved my Z3 put them all togehter and got the M problem was i ordered before i ever drove or sat in one (or a 1.9 or 2.8 with sports seats)- if it had, i never would have ordered it (sports seats are higher and closer to the steering whell than the regular seats- limits the room for somebody 6'6")...therefore...once the E46 M3 (with 350hp) comes out and i can take one for a test drive for a day or two AND i like it, the roadster is gone (unless i can marry somebody who makes it financially possible to keep both, or i get adopted by somebody that wants to give a 2.8 to his daughter :)
