Compared to the dove grey interior which is much more common on M3's, Mulberry is dark grey. It does appear to have a very slight purplish tint, but this is only obvious when combined with certain exterior colors. This is most notable on violet and blue cars.

I have an Arctic Silver M3 with the Mulberry interior. The interior looks dark grey with absolutely no hint of purple. I have asked several other people to look at it, and they all say it looks like dark grey.

Now, if I were to compare it other manufacturer's version of dark grey (for example my Dad's 300zx-tt) I would consider Mulberry to be closer to medium grey.
