I mounted mine to the left of the mirror. The other day during a drive on a long stretch of highway, very straight mind you. I picked up a cop (K band), and then 3.6 miles down the road I passed him. He was parked on the oppposite side of the freeway facing traffic (down an onramp, hoping to catch speeders as they passed by).

I haven't noticed any bad reception with my V1!

: I know, I know, these questions have been answered over and over. I just never copied down the answers...

: I'm looking for any archived information on the web about different mounting location possibilities in an E36 coupe? The one article I found is a well-detailed description of hard-wiring the unit into the overhead light power source. But it doesn't talk much about location. I just got my unit today and it looks like there are only 3 feasible locations, left and right of the rear-view mirror and on the dash itself. I also purchased the concealed display so my primary concern is sensitivity/performance. If Mike V. could shrink the V1 and make the concealed display thinner he'd have a world-class product.

: On that note- the alarm installer who is going to do my alarm (Avital) said he finds that BMW windshields are loaded with lead top to bottom and that he can demonstrate this to me with a meter (I have an appointment with him on Tuesday, so I'll get to confirm this) He tells me there aren't many great places for detectors in BMWs. Any comments?
