: : : I don't know, I will look at it this weekend. I could not find any info on any 84 M3 (how it is advertised), so I thought I'd ask someone who knows.
: : they probably didn't say what chasis it was did they?
: : I'll post what I find.
: : please do
: : : For some reason, I remember seeing a european M series modified 320i (maybe a late 83?) in this area. It's not a real M3, but was modified at the factory by some sort of Mortorsport setup (supposedly has cert. paperwork). My mechanic, who is an factory trained, with 26 years exp & an affectionado has told me of the car. I asked him about it and he thinks it is the same car. May be a dressed up 323/320is/318?
: : there is an 83 (i am pretty sure, maybe an 82) E21 320iS (S in this case means Sport package)...it has some extra aero work done on it and some special interior stuff i think (not sure if there was any engine work, but i doubt it)...it is a rare car...i saw a white one in Seattle in 1990 and they wanted big bucks for it!...i am not usre the whole history of that model, but it DOES exist
: : : I am not versed in finding IP. How do you do that? I'd like to know so I can use it in future.
: : Ancient Chinese secret! :) Actually I am a pseudo moderator of the board and can access that info :)

: : 98 M roadster FOR SALE
: The owner did not know any of the codes for the car, just said 84 M3. SAid it looks like a 320/318. I didn't want to piss him off before I got to see car you know? So I didn't press it. I have misplaced the paper I wrote the vin on. I looked online and also in some of my books and could not find anything. I think I'll wait till I see it.
: Thanks for the input.
Car was 318 dressed up w/skirts and badge. Piece of crap. Owner was full of BS and insisted that it was a M b/c of emblems. I told him I could buy badges for less than $20.00 and put them on a CHevette if I wanted, but it would not make it an MChevette. Sorry for wasting time and space on the board.
YOu never know unless you look. I was hoping it was a 320/6 or a 323, but no such luck. Thanks for the responses.
