10 spoke, contour, and forged alloy, differences? (archive)

I was wondering of the difference in strength in the three wheels offered for the M3. Personally I like the looks of the regular 10 spokes, because the contours look a little less sporty to me. Are these two wheels made out of the same material? Which one is better in performance, and is one wheel heavier than the other? I have heard people say that the regular 10 spokes bend easily, and wondering if this was occuring in the contours. Also, I have heard that the forged alloys are a lot stronger, but it seems pretty steep at $1400 (at least in my case). Also, the styling looks a bit dated now. A big dilemma, which wheel to choose? If possible, I would like to keep the 10 spokes, but I am worried about the durability. Any comments would be appreciated.
