Road trip in my E30 M3! (archive)

This Thursday, a friend and I are flying back east from Los Angeles to pick up our E30 M3's. I'm flying to North Carolina and he to Florida. Once I pick up my car, I'm driving to Spartanburg, SC to check out the BMW facilities, including the new Performance Center (though it's probably not open yet). From there, I'll drive through Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. My friend will drive from Florida and meet me in Jackson, Mississippi. Then we'll continue through Louisiana, Texas, etc back to California.

So, any tips for the long drive? Anyone live along this route that will offer us bread and water? :)
