Before I purchase a Euro, I'd make sure:
1. It's brand spanking new
2. Includes 100% of plumbing and hardware (airbox, manifold, exhaust header (I believe they are different), engine mounts, oil pump, water pump....)
3. to check the clutch specs
The thing is if you're doing the Dinan SC, it'll be warrantied, and will fit cleanly with no worries. If you drop in a Euro engine, the drivetrain would lose its warranty, and you might need to get some euro specific hardware.
My 2 cents: I've driven the euro car. The engine difference comes out only at high rpms, pretty much a 6-cylinder "VTEC" type of effect. Regular driving and autox would probably not be affected much, since torque counts more. The biggest difference would probably be on a circuit.
Also, and check this, i think the SC would add more torque than switching to a euro engine would => more impact on your everyday ride.
