I, too, looked into this because I felt the same way about it. You can call BMW Finance to find out the buyout value. However, depending on where your initial car value was set at, the buyout may be *much* higher than the current value of the car (mine was like $4K-$6K at the time), so you may need to take the lease to conclusion and then maybe sell it when the residual (hopefully) matches the car's value.
