You can get the alarm for about $265 at Bavarian Auto or Bekkers. They say the install takes about 2 hrs (at $75/hr) so it should run you about $500. Talk to the dealer and they should lower the price to about $500 unless you're mechanically inclined, you can just by the alarm and install it yourself. There's also an aftermarket alarm that plugs straight into the factory wiring and it costs about the same ($275).

OR... you can get an aftermarket alarm (I would suggest a Clifford IQ700 or 800) for about $400-$500 installed.

I went with the factory alarm and let the dealer do it. I think I paid about $500 for it installed.

Hope this helps.

: I just got a 99 M3, but the dealer alarm is about $700
: It's really just an alpine alarm but if I get it anywhere else other than the dealer, BMW claims that they won't service my car if something happens.

: Does anyone know a way around this?

: I don't care about the alarm I just want keyless entry!
