: Just wondering if this is a common problem...
: I've had my M3/2 for about 1.5wks now. So far I've only identified two problems: 1) shimmy (it's at the dealer now for this), 2) hesitation/bogging when cold.

: This is most noticeable because I need to give it some throttle when backing out of the driveway in the morning. It feels as if it wants to hesitate/die right at initial throttle tip-in. If I get the revs up a bit everything's fine.

: Anyone else experiencing this symptom?

: Thanks much,

Scott: They all do it, since about '96 model year on up. BMW issued a service bulletin for stick-shift cars on this issue a couple months ago. Not for auto trans yet, but your's is a stick, right? They reprogram the engine computer to modify the cold-start cycle.

Or, you could just wait the 30 seconds to a minute it takes to go away. Put your gloves on, lock the doors, turn on some tunes, by the time you go, it's gone!
