Nothing else is needed, just the chip. The chip itself is $225.
That's a loaded question though, if you get into autoxing and
track events you will soon spend lots of money trying to make the
car handle better and increase HP. There are a lot of places that
will be happy to take your money to make your car better. I wish
I never heard of the Internet, I spend way too much money on
performance parts.

Sure it's wise to get the chip, power is smoother and makes everyday
driving more enjoyable.

If you chip your car, you put it in a street prepared class
(SCCA rules) where you won't be competitive unless you change
your suspension and of course have sticky tires plus other things
that will add up to a lot of $$$. In stock form with upgraded
shocks and sticky tires a plain M3 is competitive.
