THe JL units appear to be acoustically open chambered. I am not sure how accurately sounding they will sound without them being totally sealed. OFtentimes, a subwoofer added incorrectly can do worse than not having one at all. IT's always a challenge to get more bass and still have trunk space. I opted to incorporate quick disconnects to be able to remove the sub-box when I need the trunk space. My amp is mounted to the sub-box, equipped with a molex connector inline with the power supply and RCA jacks. IT takes all of 5 seconds to remove/install the sub.

The amp is a Fosgate Punch 40x2, using the supplied 180hz
crossover resistor.
