Help - Humming sound (archive)

Guys, I just got this 1998 M3/4A with 400 miles on it delivered (from out of state)!
Woo, what a response on its gas pedal, it just shoots...
I need to learn to keep up with this beast, any tips??

I am hearing a very feeble humming sound (alongwith the red
led flashing??) from the HK system, is this normal? - the engine is off and the key is out... This car doesn't have the BMW alarm system yet, I am getting it installed next week.

Has anyone ever experienced this humming sound when everything is off (I think the sound system still gets
power...)?

Also, I am still reading the manual, how do I turn off the
automatic weather control, I keep pushing the Auto switch
but it stays green and I get air from all the vents - I would like to shut this down as I dont really use the a/c
in cars...

Any help/tips will be truly appreciated!!
