: I'm ready for a little kindler and gentler tire for My 95 M3,at least for the street :) Has anyone out there tried the new Yokohama AVS? I'll take all the expert opinions on this or comparable tires. I'm undecided, Hep! Me!
I have AVS-S1 on stock 98 M3. Relatively soft ride, good in wet, very forgiving at the limit. Not very crisp turn-in, severe wear on outer shoulder at track events and especially when auto-crossed. If you don't do the track events I think they would be a good choice. My friend put Yoko 520's 235/40-17 on his stock 97 M3 w/7.5 and 8.5 set-up also. As good on the track as mine w/less shoulder wear, but harder ride and more tread noise for about $50 less per tire. The old Pilots are the best I have tried for agressive driving on dry pavement if you don't care about the harsh ride. What's that old saying about having your cake and eating it too? Good luck.
