: Hid lights are now illegal it is a fedral offense unless installed buy the OEM the highway commision just passed the law in April. So if you install an aftermarket kit on your car your in touble if you get caught.I guess it was because people where taking lincoln MarkVII xenon assemblies apart and glueing mounting welding them ect....on there cars and not aiming them properly and they were blinding on coming traffic.I found this out because I was gonna have All cars inc. make a custom assembly out of OEM parts for my M3 but they informed they can't anymore.

This is what I was told by a pretty good company that deals in high quality custom HID kits using all OEM parts (www.allcarsinc.com)They told me they no longer can sell custom HID light kits to U.S. customers because of the new law.But i dont think any Cop will bother a BMW with bright blue lights.A pretty shity law if you ask me !!
