: : : I just installed a cone filter in my 99 MZ3. I need some advice as to whether I did it correctly. I installed it such that the centre of the cone is directly in front of the outlet from the duct in the front spoiler. My concern is, however, will water be a problem at highway speeds if its raining? Can water make its way up that tube into the cone causing engine damage? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
: : Your won't get any HP out a cone filter unless there is a heat shield and that is only minimal HP you best bet is to use the euro air box on the euro M w/ a soft ware upgrade you can get 30+ HP.See (www.tunermotorsport.com)
: Wrong-o! If you'll notice Chris doesn't have an M3 but a Roadster so first the euro box won't work for him and second the euro box gives very minimal gains over the stock one. You won't get close to that 30HP gain unless you use a shielded cone filter.
: And I believe the kit on the page is for 95 M3's only, I didn't bother to look through the web page but I owned such a kit from Turner's.
: Sorry Chris I can't answer your question bud I'd be concerned as you are. There's one person that I know of who lost his motor to water ingestion but he drove through flooded streets in Texas.
You guys are right I should wake up before I try answering questions!Dumb move on my part.
