When road racing, I always forget to disable the traction control but it never comes on. I guess my lines and cornering are good. Anyways, if you have it on and the DME detects wheel spin, it usually brakes the real wheels which slows you down and if you keep on going, the throttle body for the traction will block air into the manifold causing the engine to slow down which of course slows your M3 down.
