The ASC light only flashes when engine management is being used (i.e. fuel reduction) but when only the brakes are being used the light doesn't flash. The brakes are pretty easy to activate and control oversteer pretty seamlessly.

Main danger of the ASC is a sudden powerloss mid corner will be very exciting at high speeds, more so than a little bit of wheelspin.
