Start up. Leave it alone for a minute or so to ensure you have oil pressure. Drive but keep it below 4K until the temp gauge is in the middle. Those with an oil temp gauge have said the oil temp takes somewhat longer to reach operating temp than the factory temp gauge would suggest. Going by the exact oil temp here rather than block temp or water temp is clearly the gold standard.
