: Hi KaChun,

: What is the EWS that you're talking about for the chip? Does this apply to chips made for the 325i '92 to '95? I noticed that the Jim C chip had two listings for the 325i, one with the EWS and one without. What's the difference?

: Thanks,
: Jimmy

the EWS features applies to the 1/95 and above M3
and the 01/95 325i/325is. if you have a 10/94 to
12/94 M3 and 10/91 to 12/94 325i/325is, you are
safe from the EWS feature.

EWS... (bruce.. where are you???) ah.. never mind
here's a little something something Bruce posted
on another board:

EWS is on models manufactured starting in Jan
95 (so M3s made in 94 do not have this
feature). It is also known as "coded driveaway
protection". There is a chip in each key
and qhwn you start the car if the code doesn't
match the car does not start. AFAIK a chip
for a 95 M3 does not need to be specific to that
VIN, but the chip supplier does need
some exact info (i dont know exactly what it is).

hope this helps..
