you said you did a retro and you have US spec lamps. What is the beam pattern like, how much farther is the throw.. etc etc.. please elaborate in all sorts of gory details. I want to get the kit that retros the US lamps, but prefer the focused cutoff on the euro. Then there's the whole cost issue of the euros on top of the hid kit.
: City Lights are integrated into the Hgh Beam housing of the Euro Ellipsiods headlight assemblies. They use (I think ) a 5 watt bulb and function like Day time running lamps. HID aka 'High Intensity Discharge' are the actual bulbs. They use Xenon gas and require a ballast and Igniter to turn on the bulb. This is what you see on the new Luxury cars such as the Lexus GS 400, Acura TL, Audi A6, and my 95 M3 after retrofit.Aiming is just a matter of adjusting the beams (see owners manual). HID could pose a little problem because the reflectors are not calibrated for these specific Xenon bulbs; thus, sometimes cause a glare to oncoming cars. Hope that helps. As for aiming, I'm not to sure about the Ellipsoids, I have the US assemblies.
: : i'm buying these lights, but i have become confused. what are "city lights?" and what is "HID." I'm also beginning to get worried about aiming them? is this aiming a complicated procedure?
