: i'm buying these lights, but i have become confused. what are "city lights?" and what is "HID." I'm also beginning to get worried about aiming them? is this aiming a complicated procedure?

Take a look at my page:
http://members.home.net/jimbassett/eurolite.htm

I've got some pictures of what the City Lights look like (they're basically a small 5W bulbs in the high beam assembly that can be wired to come one with or in place of the parking lights).

There's also info on aiming the lights; it's not too difficult.

As for HID, these are "High Intensity Discharge" lights as Racer mentioned, however the E36 Euro Ellipsoids DON'T use them - they use standard H1 bulbs (stock wattage is 55W, you can upgrade to 100W, which I have done).

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me (I've had and installed Euro Ellipsoids on both my previous 328is and the current M3).
