: I need some help gang! I have a '97 coupe and am constantly getting a "check engine" light with the fault code reading "gas tank, major leak". I have been at the dealer six times and they have replaced every hose, clamp, etc. in the tank area. Only the tank hasn't been replaced. Anyone out there with a similar problem? I need some help! Thanks.

you are not the only one, man. I have the exactly same problem happened on my '98M3/4. I went back 6 times and they changed almost evverything. Finally they changed the CO senser or something and it works fine now. But the cause of the problem is still unknown. The technician told me don't leave the keys on the ignition when you fill the gas. Anywhy, it still happened even I unplug the key when I fill up the gas.
