In Reply to: Should I buy New M3 w/ 6Yr-100K Extended Warranty posted by Bob Crews on October 10, 1999 at 20:13:44:

: I am seriously considering buying a '99 M3 tomorrow loaded with all options; silver/black, that has only 2000 miles on it. It is actually owned by the general manager for a large Honda dealership. The owner of the dealership also owns the local BMW dealership as well as many other dealerships. Anyway, this guy gets five or six new cars a year and puts a couple of thousand miles on them and then sells the car at his cost (which is dealer cost) so he only loses the loan interest he has paid. The car has a $45K+ MSRP and I can buy it for about $39K. The BMW dealership said they will buy it from their "sister" Honda dealership and resell the car to me at the same price plus $995 for the BMW Certified 6 Year/100,000 Mile Warranty since it is considered "used". (The reason they are willing to do this and not make any profit on the sell is because my wife is leasing a new 328ci from the dealer.) Is this really a good deal for me or am I just wanting to believe it is? It is the color I want and has all the options I'm looking for too plus I'll have a 6Yr/100K warranty. Good? Bad? Whatcha think?
