I found that out yesterday when I asked my service advisor. Btw, I got that blanket from Claridge BMW, Fremont, CA. Just as I said on my email, the reason I never installed it (Hoist kit) is too many kids around my garage to have that H-Top hanging in storage. This hoist kit is ideal for a one-man installation/de-installation of the H-Top. It takes two person to handle the H-Top (not heavy but bulky). I considered the trolley but garage space for me was an issue. My wife's SLK 230 needs to in too on this 2-car garage. I will email you images of the hoist kit when I get it out of the storage.

: Did you buy it from someplace on the web or anywhere I could see a picture of it and get specs to understand installation, whether it will easily fit my garage, etc. It sounds like you never installed it and instead made your own. Any reason it didn't work for you?

: On the blanket, was it something BMW sold you or did you just cut up an old blanket and put it in the top when it is down?

: Thanks and I may be interested in the hoist if I can get more info...
