I don't think it's necessary to put the car up on blocks. I had my car in storage for about 6 months. Once a week I would prime the engine, start it, Turn A/C on cold full blast and when engine is on normal operation temp., turn the A/C off and turn on the heater full blast. Make it run for about 20-25mins or so. This ensures your A/C is lubricated, the coolent from the heater core has been circualted so it won't smell, engine is lubcricated, and battery is charged. I recommend to change the oil though when the car sees the streets again. If you can, move the car back and forth so the tires won't flat spot...maybe.
