Hi Anthony,

I have never seen a decent explanation of the factory HK system anywhere. No brochures, no ratings, not even a spec sheet to explain the amp output. But what I really want to know is just what does the hifi switch do, and where are its electronics located? I figure its some kind of dynamic expander or spatializer type DSP, but is it in the radio? The amp? Some kind of outboard device? The reason I'm asking is I'm considering pulling the factory unit and replacing it with the Nakamichi MB75 and an a/d/s PH15 6 channel. If the DSP is outboard - great! Otherwise, I end up with a dead switch that'll have to control a missile launcher or something else.
